Do you know what's happening at your city or town hall?
With municipal elections set across Baldwin County on Aug. 26, now is a prime time for residents to watch how their local government operates before heading to the polls. But election season aside, the decisions made every day in city halls and town chambers have a direct effect on neighborhoods, businesses and families.
From infrastructure projects and public safety funding to zoning, growth planning and park improvements, the policies shaped in these meetings have a lasting impact. Staying informed means knowing when and where those conversations happen — and how to tune in.
That's why we've put together a guide that breaks down how to stay connected, whether you're attending meetings in person or following from home. It includes details on meeting schedules, locations and instructions for accessing agendas in advance so you can be part of the conversation. All times and dates listed are current as of press time, but last-minute changes can occur.
Meanwhile, qualifying for the upcoming municipal elections across Baldwin County is now complete, which means candidates for mayor and council have been finalized. We're compiling candidate lists for all 14 municipalities and will share them once available.
In the weeks ahead, we'll be providing comprehensive coverage of every municipality, including a Voter Guide with candidate Q&As and other vital information to help residents make informed decisions before Election Day on Aug. 26.
NOTE: If you're a candidate, please reach out to myself or email editor@gulfcoastmedia.com and send us your contact information if we don't already have it.
