Baldwin County Homewatch earns national accreditation

Service keeps an eye on homes while owners are away

Baldwin County Homewatch has been awarded accreditation from the National Home Watch Association, joining a trusted network of companies dedicated to maintaining high standards for absentee homeowner services across the United States and Canada.

The National Home Watch Association, formed in 2009, sets industry standards for Home Watch services — which include visual inspections of properties to identify potential issues while homeowners are away. Accredited members undergo background checks and carry insurance and bonding to provide clients with peace of mind. More information about the organization is available at www.nationalhomewatchassociation.org.

Owners Bailey and Austin George launched Baldwin County Homewatch to serve communities across Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Lillian, Fairhope, Foley and Daphne. The couple relocated to Alabama in 2021, drawn to the warm weather and the Gulf Coast lifestyle after years of travel.

Bailey, originally from Northern Illinois, spent over a decade in healthcare, including time as a cardiac nurse in Alabama after earning her nursing degree from Saint Anthony College of Nursing in Rockford, Illinois. While working as a travel nurse, Bailey wanted to explore new opportunities outside of healthcare. Discovering the Home Watch industry sparked her interest and aligned with her skills.

Austin George brings a background in handyman services, home renovation and public service with the Foley Street Department. The couple has completed three full home renovations and always hoped to transition into property management and home rental services. A family connection — Bailey's relative, Kristen Riggs, owns Riggs Request, a Home Watch business in Missouri — further inspired their decision to open Baldwin County Homewatch. Riggs Request is also an NHWA-accredited member.

Baldwin County Homewatch provides tailored services for seasonal homeowners, vacation property owners and other residents seeking reliable oversight while away.
