Baldwin County Education Coalition honors Vocational Scholarship recipients

The Baldwin County Education Coalition recognized 10 high school seniors as recipients of the JLS International Vocational Scholarship during a special reception in May.

This year, the coalition awarded a total of $10,000 in scholarships to students pursuing careers in high-demand technical fields.

The scholarships, funded through the JLS International Vocational Scholarship Endowment Fund, help cover trade school tuition, program expenses, tools and equipment for Baldwin County public school students enrolled in Career and Technical Education programs.

Scholarship recipients are:

  • James Anderson, Baldwin Prep Academy/Baldwin County High, Electrical Instrumentation CACC
  • Parker Dewise, Baldwin Prep Academy/Daphne High, PSC Building Construction
  • Colton Rainer, Baldwin Prep Academy/Daphne High, Auto Work GEN TEC
  • Dennis Clay, Elberta High, Lincoln Tech
  • Ethan Montford, Fairhope High, CACC E&I Certification
  • Landdun Martin, Foley High, CACC Welding
  • Kamden Anderson, Robertsdale High, FAME (Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education)
  • Karis Kolonis, Robertsdale High, CACC Vet Tech
  • Miller Ragsdale, Robertsdale High, CACC E&I Certification
  • Jacob Hayles, Spanish Fort High, Workforce in HVAC

The JLS International Vocational Scholarship was established in partnership with Jeffery L. Smith, President of JLS International, who has pledged to fund the endowment with a goal of reaching $1 million. Currently, the fund stands at $750,000 and continues to grow.
