The Baldwin County Education Coalition celebrated the fifth annual Baldwin Proud Future Teacher Scholarships on May 7 at Baldwin Preparatory Academy, recognizing an inspiring group of future educators.

The event honored high school seniors, Baldwin County Public Schools employees and their children who are pursuing degrees in education. Several previous recipients also renewed their scholarships as they continued their studies.

This year's scholarships totaled $58,000. The Future Teacher Scholarship recipients included Addison Scarborough from Baldwin County High; Jolyn Kielar from Elberta High; Zackary Blackmon and Anh Dinh from Daphne High; Lauren Mason, Molly Flint, and Allie Olson from Spanish Fort High; Emma Coffey, Camryn Rauls, and Ella McGill from Fairhope High; Brice Hubbard and Alyvia Raymond from Robertsdale High; and Nomaneta Iopu from Foley High.

The Josh Hall Memorial Scholarship, which honors a former educator, was awarded to Ansley Daigle, Hunter Kelley, Autumn Parker, Hannah Rollins, Noah Glassford, Nehemiah Hixon, Jordyn Shackelford, Anna Thomas, Dane Wigstrom, Tanner Brooks, Lori Thompson, Jennifer Baggett, Lauren Moreno, Elisabeth Langley and Kayla Booth.

The Alabama Education Association (AEA) Scholarship went to Elizabeth Griffin and Ellie Powell.

The Baldwin Proud Future Teacher Scholarship Program, established by the Baldwin County Public Schools Human Resources Department, aims to inspire students to return to Baldwin County as educators. The Baldwin County Education Coalition administers the program and also manages the Josh Hall Memorial Scholarship, which supports district employees and their children.

Funding for these scholarships comes from generous donors and the program's signature fundraiser, the Evening of Education Champions. This year's event raised $64,000, ensuring continued support for aspiring educators in the county.
