The Baldwin County Commission announced the selection of its 2025 summer interns during a Signing Day event at Baldwin Preparatory Academy on Tuesday, May 20.

This marks the county's inaugural year participating in the Baldwin County Utilities Internship Program, which aims to connect students with real-world career opportunities and build a pipeline of skilled professionals in infrastructure and public service.

Three rising high school seniors were selected for paid internships through the Utilities Program. Additionally, the county's Highway Department and Planning & Zoning Department selected interns for the second year of their summer programs.

The 2025 Baldwin County Commission Summer Interns are:

Utilities: De'Kiara Marshall, Foley High School

Utilities: Carson Kyle, Daphne High School

Safety Technician: Wyatt Geiger, Elberta High School

Engineering: Dax Lopez, Auburn University (rising junior)

Engineering: Manning Pitre, St. Michael Catholic High School (rising senior)

Planning and Zoning: Jeb Bathrick, graduating senior at St. Michael Catholic High School

These students will spend the summer learning alongside industry professionals, gaining technical skills and workplace experience while supporting essential operations that keep Baldwin County running smoothly.

The Baldwin County Utilities Internship Program, a partnership between the Baldwin County Board of Education and workforce development partners, seeks to enhance career readiness and connect students with hands-on opportunities in high-demand fields.

In addition to the Commission's selections, other students across the county were chosen by utility partners, reflecting a countywide commitment to developing the next generation of skilled workers.
