As Veterans Day approaches, communities across Baldwin County are gearing up to honor and celebrate those who have served.
From solemn ceremonies and parades to musical tributes and BBQ fundraisers, a range of events will take place to express gratitude for the sacrifices of veterans. Whether you're looking to attend a prayer service at sunset, join in a downtown parade or enjoy live music at a local hangout, there are multiple opportunities to show your support for veterans this November. Here's a guide to some of the events happening in the area.
What: Baldwin EMC's Power of Giving event will include a veterans supply drive and blood donations for local hospitals. Help support veterans in need by bringing supply donations. Additional Info: For more information, visit baldwinemc.com.
When: Thursday, Nov. 7, from 8 a.m.–5 p.m.

What: Celebrate veterans with a drive-through parade followed by bingo and a social at Brennity. After the parade, join residents and team members for Stars and Stripes Bingo and an entertainment performance by the Wing Beats. Participants are encouraged to decorate their vehicles. What: Elberta's Veterans Day Parade invites the community to honor and celebrate those who served. The parade will travel through Elberta's main streets, concluding at Elberta School.

Where: Route begins at Illinois St., proceeding to Hwy 98, Co. Rd. 83, Oak St., and ending at Elberta School.

What: Join Fairhope in honoring veterans at a downtown parade featuring local military service members and patriotic displays. The parade will feature Fairhope community groups and veterans' organizations in a show of gratitude and support.

What: Celebrate Veterans Day with a BBQ lunch fundraiser to support local veterans, hosted by VFW Post 5660 and Fat Boys Grilling. Pre-order by calling (251) 928-8259.

What: Honor military veterans at Foley's annual parade, organized by American Legion Post 99. Following the parade, join the community for a ceremony, fellowship and a complimentary lunch for veterans at Post 99.

What: Join North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce's Veterans Day Program, starting with breakfast, a parade and ceremonies honoring veterans. Lunch plates available for purchase at Blackburn Park. Proceeds from lunch plates support veteran services.

What: The Veterans Memorial Park Foundation of Pensacola invites active duty military personnel, veterans, families and community members to attend the Veterans Day Ceremony featuring keynote speaker Captain Lee Hansen, U.S. Navy (Retired). The event will include music by the Blue Anchor Belles and presentations including the ringing of the bell at the Marine Aviation Memorial Tower. The ceremony honors military veterans and features a special presentation of the Bud Day Award. For more details, contact the Veterans Memorial Park Foundation.
