Award-winning screenwriter and author Gus Nicholson will bring a gripping story of family, scandal and redemption to Fairhope when he presents his new novel, "The Romance Section," at the Fairhope Public Library on Thursday, June 26, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
The event will be held in the Giddens Conference Center, offering readers an intimate look at the book and its themes. Set across Alabama — in Fairhope, Mobile and the fictional town of Cumminsville — "The Romance Section" captures the lush landscapes and deep-rooted tensions of the South. It explores issues at the heart of today's cultural conversation, wrapped in a compelling drama that captures the complexities of belonging and betrayal.
Born in the South and now living in the Rocky Mountains near Vail, Colorado, Nicholson brings his unique lens to this novel. A poet, screenwriter, filmmaker, professional ski instructor and real estate expert, he draws on a diverse background for a story that feels as rich and captivating as the places it inhabits.
The evening will feature a reading and interactive discussion with Nicholson, making it a must-attend for fans of Southern fiction, character-driven stories and narratives that spark meaningful conversation.
"The Romance Section" is available now at major booksellers, including Barnes & Noble and Amazon.com, and as an e-book on Kindle and Nook. It will also be available soon at libraries worldwide.
