The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of a suspect in connection to a 2015 murder in Lillian on Friday, April 21.

On Nov. 14, 2015, Devin Kennedy of Pensacola was reported missing, and his body was discovered in a vehicle in Lillian on Nov. 15, 2015. The investigation into his death lead to multiple suspects, but there was insufficient evidence to support an arrest. Eventually, the leads were exhausted. The case remained open but went cold.

According to the BCSO, new information came to light within the past few months that allowed investigators to refocus on the investigation. The new information, in conjunction with the initial physical evidence from the crime scene in 2015, and the information and evidence developed during the initial investigation led to an arrest warrant for Decody Darnell Herring for his role in the murder of Devin Kennedy.

Herring is a 32-year-old man from Pensacola. He was booked into the Baldwin County Jail on April 19, according to Baldwin County Jail View. He is being held with no bond for murder.

The BCSO said this is still an ongoing investigation and with the new focus they expect more information about this case to develop.
