Foley police arrested multiple suspects following an armed robbery that took place May 27 on Keil Trail off Dailey Lane.
Officers responded around 6:50 p.m. after receiving a report that two victims had been held at gunpoint and robbed of two firearms.
Foley Police Department, working with Gulf Shores Police Department and Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, began an investigation that led to the discovery of one suspect, Kyle Welch, 26, of Texas. A Foley police canine located Welch hiding under an RV in the area. Gulf Shores police later found three weapons, including one stolen in the robbery, and a bag containing three grams of methamphetamine under the RV.
On May 29, Foley officers arrested a second suspect in the robbery, a 17-year-old juvenile.
Welch and the juvenile face charges of first-degree robbery, a class A felony. Welch also was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony.
Investigators obtained a search warrant for a residence on George Younce Road, leading to the arrest of three more individuals.
Kahmiya Amoni Thomas, 18, and Abel Alejandro Gamez, 18, were charged with second-degree possession of marijuana, a class A misdemeanor. Gamez also faces a charge of possession of a firearm with an altered identification, a class C felony. Cody Dewayne Barnett, 34, was arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Additional charges are pending.
