FAIRHOPE — Thanks to anonymous donors, St. Michael Catholic High School’s football/soccer stadium will now be completed with some upgrades.
Construction broke ground in June and, using funds collected during the “Bringing Our Cardinals Home” capital campaign, was to be finished with only the field and lighting, but will now be completed with home and visitor stands, bathrooms and a concession stand. The new complex will be ready for athletic contests at the start of the 2024 season.
“We are overwhelmed by the generosity of these anonymous donors,” said Dr. Andrea Williamson, Principal of St. Michael Catholic School. “This gift will not only provide our students with a fantastic facility right here on our campus, but it will also create lasting memories for our entire Catholic school community. We are profoundly thankful for this act of kindness and dedication to our school.”
“This will transform the athletic experience for our students,” said St. Michael Catholic School Co-Athletic Director David Offerle. “With a new stadium, we will be able to host games, events and tournaments that were previously beyond our reach. It’s a game changer for our athletes and our school.”
