Annie Laura Gates, 82, resident of Robertsdale, Alabama, passed away peacefully at home in the comfort of loved ones in the early hours of Tues. Jun. 3rd, 2025. Laura is predeceased by her husband, Carl Gates Jr.; her parents, Sam and Laura Mae Douglas; her siblings, Claude Douglas, Josephine Fosberg, Sammie Douglas, Charles Douglas, Margie Jones, and Willie Douglas. She is survived by her sons, Carl Gates III and Todd Gates; her grandchildren, Carl Gates IV and Hannah Gates; as well as her great grandchildren; and her sister, Kate Macon. Laura was a beloved mother and grandmother. She is well known for her work at Vanity Fair as well as her participation in the Red Hatter’s Association. She will be remembered for her loving and giving heart. Laura's memory will be cherished by many, forever. Funeral services were held Fri., Jun. 6, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Mack Funeral Home with burial in Baldwin Memorial Cemetery.
