The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo is opening its doors to those displaced by Hurricanes Helene and Milton, offering a place of comfort and respite during their time in the area.
Beginning today, Wednesday, Oct. 9, and running through Sunday, Oct. 13, the zoo will offer half off admission to evacuees from Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Tennessee.
Proof of residence from one of the affected states is required to receive the discount. The zoo, located in Gulf Shores, is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone recovering from and in the path of these storms," said Paula White, Director of Development for the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo. "We hope the zoo can be a place of comfort and respite during this time while they are in our area.”
The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo is home to more than 300 animals and offers a range of exhibits and interactive experiences for visitors. Known for its dedication to wildlife conservation and education, the zoo is extending this special offer as a way to support those impacted by the recent storms.
