The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo is celebrating five years at its 25-acre location with a series of special events and offers throughout March, inviting visitors to join in the festivities.
The zoo, which relocated to its current site in 2020, has become a staple in the community, offering interactive experiences and educational programs. To mark the anniversary, guests can take advantage of free animal feedings, exclusive discounts and a special fundraising event to support the nonprofit facility.
Wednesday, March 5 – Guests can enjoy Storytime with Safari Sonda at 9:30 a.m. at the Giraffe Feeding Station. Free giraffe feedings will be available from 10-11 a.m. and 2-3 p.m. The gift shop will offer 20% off giraffe-themed merchandise.
Saturday, March 15 – Free carousel rides will be available throughout the day. Shoppers can receive a free gift with any merchandise purchase over $50.
Thursday, March 20 – Another chance for Storytime with Safari Sonda at 9:30 a.m. at the Giraffe Feeding Station, followed by free giraffe feedings from 10-11 a.m. and 2-3 p.m. The gift shop will again offer 20% off giraffe merchandise.
Tuesday, March 25 – Safari Sonda will host Storytime at the tortoise feeding area at 10 a.m., followed by free tortoise feedings from 10:30-11:30 a.m. The gift shop will offer 20% off turtle-themed items.
The monthlong celebration will conclude with the Cheers to Five Years: Wine and Whisky Stroll on Saturday, March 29, an anniversary fundraiser supporting the zoo’s mission and future plans. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available online.
