Christmas break is quickly approaching and if you are looking to keep your children busy you are in luck. The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo is hosting two winter Zoo Camp sessions for children in kindergarten through eighth grade. Space is limited and registration ends Dec. 16 so don’t wait.
Camp Session 1 – Dec. 19-20 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Kindergarten – third grade
Sense-actional Species - Learn about the five senses and how animals use them to survive in this wild world. Camp size: 25 campers
Fourth – eighth grade
Camp Session 2 – Dec. 29-30 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Kindergarten – third grade
Zoo-Fari – Join the adventure as we explore animal movement, adaptations and feeding styles of the zoo animals. Camp size: 25 campers
Fourth – eighth grade
Zookeeper in Training – Want to be a zookeeper? Join us to see how the zoo uses STEAM skills and learn about all the jobs it takes to run the zoo. Camp size: 25 campers
Campers will learn information themed around the camp’s daily topic, have up-close and hands-on experiences with animals and create take-home crafts and so much more.
Registration is open and the deadline to register is Dec. 16. Spaces are limited. Camp cost is $100 per camper per session and zoo members receive a discount.
