Alabama Farmers Federation seeks potential candidates for Oct. 1 campaign school

Posted

Aspiring politicians and seasoned officeholders alike will have the opportunity to sharpen their campaign skills at a bipartisan campaign school hosted by the Alabama Farmers Federation on Oct. 1. The event, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., will be held at the Alfa Insurance Co. home office, located at 2108 E. South Blvd. in Montgomery.

According to a news release, the Alabama Farmers Federation has a proven track record of helping to launch successful political careers. Past attendees of these campaign schools have gone on to become state senators, representatives, judges, city and county officials and even constitutional officers.

"This school provides ethics training and the tools necessary to organize a campaign with strong grassroots efforts and effective strategies," said Federation Director of Organization Matthew Durdin in the release. "It teaches potential candidates the necessary steps to ensure a successful campaign, and it helps veteran officeholders evaluate and assess the strengths and weaknesses of past campaign efforts."

Participants will benefit from the insights of award-winning speakers with extensive political experience at all levels of government. The program will feature elected officials from both major parties, as well as some of Alabama's leading political consultants. These experts will share their knowledge on running effective campaigns and navigating the complexities of the political landscape.

One of the school's success stories, Alabama State Rep. Susan Dubose, R-Hoover, credited her victory in part to the training she received.

"What this Campaign School taught me when I attended was instrumental in my success as a candidate," said Alabama State Rep. Susan Dubose, R-Hoover. "I am glad I attended because the strategies and expert testimonies provided gave me insights into a successful campaign."

The event requires registration, which is on a first-come, first-served basis. Given the limited space, early registration is encouraged. The $25 registration fee covers the cost of food and materials, and the deadline to register is Sept. 24 at noon.

For those with questions about the campaign school, Beth Chapman is available for inquiries at (205) 243-875. Interested candidates can register online at https://web.cvent.com/event/37e3b7a7-b9ca-4f46-891a-5a88653103ee/summary. Registered participants will receive a confirmation email.
