After school activities canceled for Baldwin County Schools amid tornado watch, incoming overnight weather

Baldwin County Schools is canceling after school activities for Wednesday, Dec. 14, due to the threat of bad weather blowing in this afternoon and tonight.

Superintendent Eddie Tyler posted a message online Wednesday early afternoon, noting while after school activities will not happen, after school childcare will be held as normal. His note encouraged parents to reach out to their local schools for those details.

There is a tornado watch in effect until 8 p.m. throughout Baldwin County.

According to the National Weather Service, there is also a rip current risk, high surf advisory and coastal flood advisory in effect until late Wednesday night. The surf advisory is in effect until 3 p.m. Thursday.
