A Specialty Bakery in Gulf Shores has expanded with a new juice and smoothie bar, Fruitful, just next door.

The new addition is the brainchild of Anna Grace Fields, who has worked at A Specialty Bakery under her grandmother for seven years. She said it has been a dream of hers to open a place like Fruitful and expressed her excitement for the new opportunity.

"I love juices. I love smoothies. I love health," Fields said. "It's a really fun thing of mine, so I decided to put a door in between and we opened up this space. We finally get to open, and I was so excited about it."

Fields said most people who come in are vegan and have gluten allergies, so it was something they had to pay attention to and accommodate when making the shift to juicing and learning how to use different fruits and ingredients to make the perfect drink. The most popular drinks include the strawberry watermelon mint, which she described as being more for hydration and heart health. There is also "Pineapple Paradise," which includes pineapple, apples and oranges. She also mentioned other drinks they make, including green juices, carrot juice and a blueberry and beetroot juice.

Fruitful is now open in A Specialty Bakery in Gulf Shores, located at the Gulf Palms Shopping Center at 2200 E. 2nd St. They had their grand opening on June 21, the same day as her grandmother's 28th anniversary of running the bakery.

"I'm just really blessed that Jesus gave me this vision, so I'm excited to live it out," Fields said.
