THE MINSTRELS AND THE BARDS

What: The Bards of Baldwin invite the public to an evening of storytelling and music by the fire. Attendees are welcome to participate or simply enjoy the folktales, fairy songs and old-time tunes. The event is free to attend and will take place weather permitting. Tea and other delights will be available for purchase.

When: Friday, May 16, 6 p.m.

CHILDREN'S DANCE THEATRE: SLEEPING BEAUTY

What: Children's Dance Theatre will present the classic ballet "Sleeping Beauty" at the Fairhope Civic Center. The nonprofit CDT brings the beauty of ballet to the local community. Tickets are available at https://31284.danceticketing.com/r/events.

ARMED FORCES DAY CELEBRATION

What: Celebrate Armed Forces Day with the South Alabama Veterans Council at Battleship Memorial Park. The day will feature an expo, parachute demonstrations, a keynote speaker, Gold Star Ceremony, MRE contest and more. Program begins at 10 a.m. in the Aircraft Pavilion. HOOKED ON KNOWLEDGE: RED SNAPPER

What: Paradise Marine Center invites the public for coffee and a morning of tips and insights from Capt. Christopher Vecsey, who will share expert advice on how to make the most of this year's snapper season.

RABIES CLINIC AND OPEN FOR ADOPTION

What: Baldwin County Animal Shelter will offer rabies vaccinations for dogs and cats. Owners must be able to restrain their pets. Vaccinations are $15, payable by cash or check. The shelter will also be open for pet adoptions.

When: Saturday, May 17, 9-11 a.m.

Where: Baldwin County Animal Shelter, 15240 County Road 49, Summerdale

Price: $15 per vaccination

CITY OF DAPHNE'S MAY DAY CELEBRATION

What: Rescheduled form May 3, the City of Daphne will host its annual May Day Celebration featuring carnival rides, bungees, inflatables, crafts, activities for kids, BBQ, face painting and a cast net demonstration from 11 a.m.-noon.

When: Saturday, May 17, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

Where: May Day Park, Daphne

Price: Free admission

WATERVILLE USA WATERPARK OPENING DAY

What: Waterville USA's Waterpark will open for the season with a full day of water attractions and family fun. Guests can purchase tickets in advance at https://watervilleusa.com/tickets.

MONSTER JAM
