Our list of weekend events are either in the evening or inside in the air conditioning. Explore the Mobile Museum of Art and the current exhibit, Azalea City Art Quilters. The exhibit displays the colorful and fun work of local artists. If you are in the mood for music, we have the events for you this weekend. Spend Thursday evening in Meyer Park for the second free concert in the Summer Music Series or view the "Muscle Shoals Documentary" Saturday at OWA Theater. If seeing a movie is more your speed you have options, Movie on the Bluff in Fairhope, Summer Movie Night in Bay Minette or a sensory-friendly movie in Daphne.

Azalea City Art Quilters 2024
What: Quilts cover beds and keep you warm, but they are also a work of art. The Azalea City Art Quilters exhibit at the Mobile Museum of Art features the colorful and fun work of local artists. There is even a collaborative work titled "Slice of Dauphin Street," a quilt inspired by a Mobile coloring book. Escape the heat and spend a day enjoying the Mobile Museum of Art.
Music at Meyer Park
What: Summer Music at Meyer Park presents Cameron DuBois & Bama Sound for this month's free concert. Pack up the family, lawn chairs, and bug spray and enjoy an evening of jamming under the stars. Pack a picnic dinner or purchase food from the on-site food truck and beverages from the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber. In case of rain the event will move to Big Beach Brewery.
Muscle Shoals Documentary
What: Muscle Shoals, Alabama has a rich history with the music industry. Spend an afternoon at the OWA Theater and learn more by viewing the "Muscle Shoals Documentary" directed by Greg 'Freddy' Camalier.
Summer Movie Night
What: The North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce and the Bay Minette Recreation Department have a cool evening planned with a Movie Night at the Pool. Put your favorite swimsuit on, blow up the pool floats and enjoy Disney Pixar's "Elemental" as the sun goes down. Capacity is limited to 275 so get there early.
Movie on The Bluff Summer Series
What: Pack up the family and snacks and head to The Bluffs of Fairhope to watch the sunset and enjoy a movie. This month's movie is "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl." Don't forget your bug spray, lawn chairs and blankets.
Sensory Friendly Screening of "Despicable Me 4"
What: At the request of a local mother, AMC Theatre Daphne will have one "Sensory Friendly" showing of "Despicable Me 4." What is a "sensory-friendly" movie? The theater lights will be dimmed but not off and the movie volume will be lowered. Tickets are available for advance purchase by visiting www.amctheatres.com.
Baldwin County Historical Society
What: Get into Baldwin County history by attending the Baldwin County Historical Society's quarterly meeting. The topic for this quarter's meeting is the history of Loxley. Have you ever wondered where the town got it's name or what drew people to the area? All these questions will be answered and more.
