January is coming to a close, Mardi Gras balls are happening all over the area, and there are lots of events happening all over the Alabama Gulf Coast. We have picked the top five events you shouldn't miss this weekend.

Start your weekend with a visit to the Pinta in Gulf Shores or sampling king cake at the King Cake-Off in Mobile Friday. Saturday is busy with our remaining three events. Start the day swapping seeds and plants at the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo or eating gumbo in Foley. If you are looking for something inside or you are a "Downton Abbey" fan, head to Mobile and check out the newest exhibit at the History Museum of Mobile. Keep up with events taking place across the Gulf Coast by visiting the Event Calendar at GulfCoastMedia.com.
