If you didn't know already, it is the Annual National Shrimp Festival weekend in Gulf Shores. If you are looking for some alternative events, we have you covered. There are dozens of events happening all weekend and range from shred day and alligator adventures to fall gardening and yoga. Community Shred Day
What: Do you have boxes of old bank statements and receipts sitting around? The Community Shred Day is an opportunity to get rid of two bags or two boxes worth of paper up to 50 pounds.
When: Friday, Oct. 7,

Alligator Adventures
What: Learn all about alligators with the staff at Meaher State Park and go on a walk to see if you can spot one in the park.

Intro to Fall Gardening
What: Do you enjoy gardening but aren't sure what to grow in the fall and winter? The Corner Copia Gardens is hosting a free class where attendees will learn all about what to plant and grow all fall and winter long.

Bend & Brews with Glow Yoga
What: Come for the yoga and stay for the beer. Glow Yoga will take over Big Beach Brewing for a community yoga class. Cool off and enjoy a cold beer or soda after. Class members receive $1 off beverages.
When: Sunday, Oct. 9,
