Are you looking for your four-legged soul mate? The Baldwin Humane Society (BHS) has three dogs that have been in their care for a long time and they need loving homes.

The staff and volunteers at BHS want nothing more than to see their long-haul residents leave the shelter.

“These dogs are our lives. We consider them our dogs until they are adopted by loving families,” said Shelby Dye, BHS adoption coordinator. “There is nothing we want more that to see these pups find the forever homes they deserve. It would mean everything to us to get these dogs adopted.”

Back in June, the Jordan’s Way Tour stopped in Fairhope to hold a Facebook live fundraising event for the BHS. During the event, Jordan’s Way founder and CEO Kris Rotonda spent extra time with the long-haul shelter residents to spotlight them.

Rotunda started his foundation after he adopted Jordan, a Bull Mastiff, German Shepherd and Samoyed mix who had been a shelter dog for three years.

While the Jordan’s Way Tour did help the shelter raise over $24,000 the three long-haul residents remain.

Check out these three pups. One just may be your new best friend.

Name: Lazlo
Age: 4-years-old
Been in residence at BHS: Two years, six months

Personality: Lazlo’s whole life revolves around a tennis ball. There is nothing he enjoys more than playing fetch, but only with a tennis ball. He is extremely sweet and loves being around people but is not your regular dog. He would prefer chasing a tennis ball over snuggling.
Type of home that would be the best fit: Lazlo was diagnosed with Addison’s Disease a year ago and is on monthly medication. This disease does not keep Lazlo from living life to the fullest. He would enjoy a home that can keep the tennis ball moving and can care for his medical needs. He would prefer to be the only pet and does best with older children.
Favorite treat: Lazlo loves a treat, but his favorite treat is having the tennis ball close to his heart.

Name: Ramona
Age: 2-years-old

Been in residence at BHS: 18 months
Personality: Ramona is a loving ball of energy and needs an active family to keep up with her spirit. After getting her energy out and enjoys snuggling and hanging out with the people she loves.
Type of home that would be the best fit: Ramona likes to be in the spotlight and would prefer to be the only pet. She has done very well with children at the shelter.
Favorite activity: Ramona loves getting her zoomies on and then playing with her toys.
Favorite treat: Frozen treats are the way to her heart.

Name: Hersey
Age: 6-years-old
Been in residence at BHS: Seven months
Personality: Hersey is sweet and playful.
Type of home that would be the best fit: Hersey would enjoy a home where she can run and play outside before snuggling up on the couch to watch tv with a family. She enjoys attention and would prefer to be the only dog and would be best in a family with children over the age of 10.
Favorite activity: Tug a war
Favorite snack: Hersey enjoys all food and snacks.
