The six members of the 2023 Dogwood Trail Court were chosen at the 63rd- annual Dogwood Trail Pageant and Scholarship Program earlier this month.

More than 30 participants were scored in essay, interview, creative introduction, and presence and composure categories.

Once the participants completed the preliminary components of the program, 12 finalists were selected. The finalists answered a randomly selected question.

The 12 finalists were Bayshore Christian School's Ansley Hardy; Bayside Academy's Mary Chapel Whitehead; Daphne High School's Morgan Bias, Abigail English, Riley Mellett, Zoie Pratt, and Macie Rayburn; Fairhope High School's Anna Bowler Conyers, Mackenzie Casallo, and Ann-Haven Sherrell; and Spanish Fort High School's Anna Kate O'Connor and Ryann Turner.

The six chosen to serve a one-year term as goodwill ambassadors on the 2023 Dogwood Trail Court are Daphne High School sophomore Abigail English and juniors Morgan Bias, Riley Mellett, and Zoie Pratt; Fairhope High School junior Anna Bowler Conyers; and Spanish Fort High School junior Ryann Turner.

Each court member will receive, courtesy of the Eastern Shore Optimist Club, a $1,250 college scholarship and a costume designed to depict the floral heritage of the community and salute the artists who call the Eastern Shore home.

Coastal Alabama Community College awards an additional scholarship to one of the six court members.

The six new court members join 338 alums.
