Though a thick fog prevented any take-offs on Friday morning, May 3, the pilots and their crews for the 15th Annual Hot Air Balloon Festival gathered on the Foley soccer fields and inflated their balloons, a few going up for tethered rides. The sight of colorful balloons and the pilots, crews, and volunteers working was captivating even from ground level, treating onlookers to a dazzling display of the work and fun that goes into manning a hot air balloon. The Hot Air Balloon Festival is an event of the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce and is sponsored by Tanger Outlets.
