GULF SHORES AND ORANGE BEACH – Race to the finish in the salty Gulf air at the USA Triathlon-sanctioned Brett/Robinson Alabama Coastal Triathlon and Tri-It-On Saturday, Sept. 10, beginning and ending at Gulf Place Public Beach.

The 2022 event marks the 15th year of competition highlighting the Gulf of Mexico for the swim section, sandy and sunny sights through Gulf Shores for the bike leg and nine distinct ecosystems in Gulf State Park for the run portion.

“The Brett/Robinson Alabama Coastal Triathlon is one of the most beautiful and fun races in the country – one we’re honored attracts hundreds of participants from across the region,” said Joe Fleenor, president of Team Magic, the company Gulf Shores | Orange Beach Sports & Events contracts to manage the event. “When it comes to destination races, it’s hard to beat the Alabama Coastal Triathlon.”

The Olympic-distance triathlon will feature a 1,500-meter swim in the Gulf of Mexico, 24.8-mile bike race and a 6-mile run while the beginner-friendly Tri-It-On will include a 300-yard swim, 12.4-mile bike race and a 2-mile run. Participants may opt to complete the event individually or in a relay team for either level race. Additionally, a virtual race opportunity is available for any distance and any category.

Packet pick-up will take place Friday, Sept. 9, from 4-6:30 p.m. and on race day from 5:30-6:30 a.m. at The Hangout. The post-race party will also take place at The Hangout.
