What: Big Beach Brewing Company will host a celebration of its new ownership and team with live music, light bites and craft beer. The Bucket List Duo will perform from 6-8 p.m., and food will be provided by the SnackHouse.

What: The South Baldwin Community Theatre will host its annual 24-Hour Play Festival, where prompts are drawn, casts are formed and one prop is assigned to each team. In just 24 hours, ten-minute plays are written, rehearsed and performed. The event kicks off with open auditions Friday evening with no acting experience required. Saturday morning begins with blocking and rehearsals, and Saturday evening the one-night-only performance takes the stage. What: The Gulf Coast Card Show returns with more than 100 tables filled with sports cards, memorabilia and trading card games. Dealers from across the South will be on hand. Entry is by donation, with proceeds benefiting the Mobile County Animal Shelter.

What: The Mt. Pleasant Historical Preservation Society invites history enthusiasts to join a tour of Alabama communities that flourished along the Alabama and Tensaw rivers. The event begins with Agee Broughton leading a discussion at Barbara Locklin Baptist Church in Perdue Hill. The group will travel to Mt Pleasant Methodist Church and Montgomery Hill Baptist Church, where local historians will share stories about the early communities and their connections to the river.

What: The Baldwin County Amateur Radio Club will host its annual Field Day at Silver Creek Boy Scout Camp in Silverhill. This nationwide event tests emergency communications using temporary antennas, generators and off-grid power. Club members will attempt contacts with other operators across the U.S., earning points for each successful transmission. Visitors can tour the setup, try out the radio, tap out Morse code for a certificate and learn more about emergency radio services. Most operations will take place indoors, with antennas and generators stationed outdoors. Cold drinks will be available starting at noon Saturday. What: Dr. Music Records will host its first-ever Battle of the Bands, featuring five bands competing for a two-song recording deal with Fritz Brothers Studios in Fairhope. Audience voting will take place near the end of the show. Attendees will also have a chance to win prizes from local businesses between acts. Bands include Marla & The Singers, Danny & Adam, Greta Lugosi, The Best Three Minutes and Lightyear Sisters. Doors open before 7 p.m. Entry is $10.
