Daphne’s Vic Moten took home South MVP honors from the AHSAA North-South All-Star Game in Montgomery Wednesday evening with an all-around performance in the South’s win and tie. Moten started Game 1 with 3 innings pitched and 6 strikeouts en route to a 3-0 victory before she delivered a 3-RBI double in Game 2 as part of an 11-11 draw. Thanks to a partnership between Coastal Alabama Community College and the Bay Minette Recreation Department, a youth tennis clinic will be held on July 24 and 25 for youth athletes aged 5 to 18 years old. Harrison Cook represented the Fairhope Pirates as the starting pitcher for the South squad as the Alabama High School Athletic Association’s North-South All-Star Week kicked off with a baseball doubleheader at Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery on Monday, July 15. Cook delivered two no-hit innings as the South All-Stars allowed only four hits and secured a 4-1 win in Game 1 before Game 2 was canceled due to lightning.

A free youth skills clinic powered by the Trent Battle Foundation is coming to the Al Trione Sports Complex in Daphne this weekend.
