Gulf Coast Media readers were won over by Robertsdale junior Whitney Wells’ performance at the Admirals’ & Pirates’ Invitational in Fairhope on Thursday with two bronze medals for her two new school records in the hurdle races.

Wells used a 17.58 in the 100-meter hurdles and a 50.93 in the 300-meter hurdles for bronze in both and a half-second improvement on the previous records according to athletic.net. She added a 4’ 8” clearance in high jump for fourth place as the AHSAA state meet approaches next week.
